How we will work
Each chapter is divided by a topic and a footwear element, we will begin with an overview of Rhino 7 and 8. The chapters are the following:
- Chapter 01 The Basics: Let´s begin by learning about soles.
- Chapter 02 Shoe Last: Learn how to create a shoe last from scratch with different techniques.
- Chapter 03 Use of sizes: Learn about scalling and cancellations and how to measure our shoe last.
- Chapter 04 Seams: Create and apply seams to our footwear.
- Chapter 05 Laces: Create different lace styles.
- Chapter 06 Project 1: Femenine Heel with Rhino 7.
- Chapter 07 Formal Exploration: Let´s talk about the future of the footwear industry and creativity.
- Chapter 08 Project 2: Ankle Boot with Rhino 8.
- Chapter 09 Rendering and Materials: Learn all about Rhino Materials with Professor Julian Oquendo!

Presentation of the course content:
In each chapter you will find videos that will guide you through the course, showing you the material and the tools you can follow up with some quizzes once in a while. You can follow the course at your own pace.
The videos have a short to medium duration and you can change their speed of them.
The full video content of the course is around 10 hours (not including homework and practice).
Before starting, we want to give you some recommendations that will be useful for the development of this course:
1) You will need to watch the videos in the order that the instructor set them up for you.
2) To advance in each chapter you must complete at least 90% of the video, otherwise, it will not allow you to continue to the next lesson.
3) In each chapter you can pause and go back as many times as you want and you can also control the speed of the video.
4) At the top you will always find the status of the course you are in and the option to advance to the next chapter.
5) We recommend using Google Chrome as your browser during the course
6) And finally, we invite you to clear your browser's cache before starting.
Requirements and programs:
This course is for anyone who wants to learn footwear and 3D modeling and you do not need previous experience, here we will talk about it step by step. Please take into consideration that this is an introductory course focus on footwear.
You must have Rhino 7 or 8 installed on your computer to follow the exercises and tools that we will see. You can download the 90-day Rhino trial here or purchase it here.
The video tutorials take place on a Windows platform, if you use Rhino for Mac you can easily follow them.
